"Winning Is Giving" Winning is giving your best self away
Winning is serving witgh grace every day
You'll know that you've won when your friends say it's true.
"I like who I am when I'm around you.
You look for the best in the others you see
And you help us become who we're trying to be."
Winning is helping someone who's down
It's sharing a smile instead of a frown.
It's giving your children a hug by the fire
And sharing the values and dreams that inspire.
It's giving your parents the message "I care.
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for being so fair.''
Winners are willing to give more than get
Their favors are free, you're never in debt.
Winning is giving on hundred percent
It's paying your dues, your taxes, your rent
It's trying and doing, not crying and stewing.
Winners respect every color and creed,
They share and they care for everyone's need.
The losers keep betting that winning is getting But there's one of God's laws that they keep forgetting And this is the Law you can live and believe The more that you give, the more you'll receive!
Very Impressive Person
He greets everyone with a smile
And a hearty handshake;
And makes you feel he means it
When he says he's glad to meet you.
And he makes you glad you met him.
He walks with a sprightly step And speaks with a laugh in his vioce. He listens with interest And speaks with conviction, And makes you feel you've know him all your life.
He doesn't seem to try to impress, Yet he's most impressive. He never tries pressing to persuade, Yet you always come away convinced.
He's the kind of guy we enjoy being around Because he is what we all secretly would like to be- Someone who enjoys being himself.
God's Hall of Fame
To have your name inscribed up there is greater yet by far,
Than all the halls of fame down here and everyone man-made star. This crowd on earth, they soon forget the heroes of the past, They cheer like mad until you fall and that's how long you last.
I tell you, friend, I would not trade my name, however small, If written there beyond the stars in that celestial hall, For any famous name on earth or glory that they share, I'd rather be an unknown here and have my name up there.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakengin the strong. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away man's initiative and independence
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselvs.
