basketball passing drills:
man in the middle passing
10 good made passes in a row
circle with d in the middle
2 line passing race
3 man weave passing
2 on 1 passing
maching gun passing
50 made passes
take 3 players. 2
players who are the passers spaced about 10 feet apart
with 1 person in the middle. The person in the middle
stays in the middle until he can get a hand on the
ball as it is trying to be passed between the other two.
The middle person goes to the player who caught the
ball and applies pressure trying to get a hand on the
ball. Meanwhile, the passers are learning to pivot and
protect, reverse pivot on the overplay to pass on the
other side, fake a pass to make a pass, and so on. The
drill continues for a specified amount of time. No lob
passes are allowed, and the receiver must be able to
catch the ball without moving.
Bobby Knight said “The player should pass
away from the defense rather than to the offensive
man”.
